Solutions Architect

Job Description

A Global Logistics company based in Surrey are looking for a Solutions Architect to join their team to help them set up a new infrastructure and bring their business forward.

You will be working closely with the Head of Digital over the next 24 months to help bring their SOA up to date with the concept of microservice architecture.

This is a position at group-level that will lead the technical design and implementation of a suite of integrations across the Line of Enterprise applications used by multiple global businesses

  • Strategically aware: you are able to keep the wider picture in mind when assessing the value of technology to the business
  • Balanced team-player with strong initiative: you value the opportunity to work in a team of professionals that help each other to achieve higher standards, while also being able to operate with a freedom to achieve end goals without constant supervision
  • Prepared: you prefer doing the hard work early rather than waiting for deadlines, so that you can react with agility when unexpected events occur


Technical Experience and Knowledge:

  • Experience of Enterprise Application Integration and Service Oriented Architecture
  • Master Data Management
  • Development projects that have included any flavour of Agile project management
  • DevOps environments that promoted continuous integration
  • Preparation and consumption of EDI and API integrations
  • Message queuing
  • Microsoft Azure integrations
  • Managing technical teams


The technical toolset is yet to be defined but an indicative range may include:

  • MSOffice
  • Azure AD
  • Github
  • Lobster (Integration Platform)
  • MS Azure Services (Message Bus, Functions, API Management)
  • Visual Studio
  • Jenkins
  • New Relic
  • SQL / NoSQL databases
